Litter confirmed #2!

Kila aka Channahon's Kilakota Song, is expecting a litter a week after Cornelia is due to have her litter.  It looks like this will be a small litter but I expect the pups to be spectacular!

Kila is a very big boned, heavily built girl.  She is also super gregarious, kind, and sweet with everyone.
 She has a beautiful head!
 Big, goofy girl

Dad is the handsome Gambler aka Frontier Luck of the Draw
Gambler is a service dog/mobility assist dog for a woman in seattle.  He has a great work ethis and is a very sweet boy

 Gambler has an attractive head

Litter confirmed!

Moonsong Cornelia Marie is going to be a mom!  she will be very happy to have pups of her own after nursing the last two litters of pups I have had at the house, even though they were not hers!
Cornelia was a serious puppy but as she has matured, she has become more goofy and carefree
She is very athletic and is one of my best sled dogs- she loves to run
 pretty girl
At first she was a little intimidated by the size of her 'date' Sandhill Ranger...
...then she obviously got over her uncertainty and was very playful and flirty
She finds Ranger very handsome!  he is also very sweet and friendly- of course she fell in love with him
 Flirty, flirty
Our babies should be very beautiful!

Bandit is a dad!

Moonsong Chinooks is very excited to welcome new Chinook Grandpuppies into the world.  The sire is Moonsong Time Bandit and the dam is Mountain Thunder Great Kyraina. This litter is the first litter for new Chinook breeders Desert Sol Chinooks.  Congratulation on a beautiful litter.  You can follow the pups at http://desertsolchinooks.com

 Kyra is very beautiful!!

Bandit is a handsome dude!

Frontier litter 6 weeks

I visited the joint Frontier/Moonsong Chinooks litter last weekend and was blown away by the quality of these pups!  I get two puppies back and I am at a complete loss as to which pups to take!!  Rafferty and Lilah made amazing babies together!!
The pups were napping when I arrived- good timing to go over puppy applications
Miss Apple and Miss Sunshine are pretty zonked out
 Justice naps under the chair
Dad rafferty watches over the pups from the nice cool porch

 Knight and Moss

 Flare has a great head!

Trying to shoot puppy pictures involves a lot of missed shots- Here is a great shot of Bliss' body but she is headless
This shot captures Flare's awesome bone and substance but I again cut off the head!
Mr. Knight is the lightest boned of the boys!  Not too shabby anyway
Flare looks like a neckless body builder in this shot:-) He does indeed have a neck but it is hard to get pictures when he is constantly tossing toys all over!
Flare with his collection of playthings
Miss Sunshine looks a LOT like her grandma Katsuk in build and substance- here she is wondering how her Chihuahua housemate got up on the stool.

 Moss

 Moss
Miss Apple is the smallest pup in the litter but has great attitude

Sunshine, Moss, Knight, and Apple watch something interesting in the kitchen
 Flare wrestles with his brother
 What great markings!

Rainbow Bridge

CH Springcreek Lambeau Leap aka Brett (Favre) left this world much too soon this week at 7 years of age of a lung infection.  He was born on 9/11/04 and brought a lot of joy to a lot of people.  He was the sweetest dog and loved everyone. He was an amazing ambassador for the breed and was gentle with children.  His sweet demeanor did not stop him from being a kick butt sled dog.  He had a lot of natural drive to pull and worked for a living doing scooter and cart demos for dogscooter.com and chalosulky.com.  He produced 3 wonderful litters who inherited his kindness and many also have his pulling ability.  He was a big handsome dude and will be missed by many.
Brett doing a carting test with his owner calling directions to him from a distance
Brett finished his Championship at 6 months of age!
He was sure a cute pup and had an 'it' factor, even then
Brett doing agility as a pup
This is my favorite photo of Brett, racing with his daughter Rosie.  I love the look of concentration and the dirt flying from their paws.
Brett was a good demo dog.  He loved to show off.

We will miss you Brett

New Arrivals!

The Frontier Litter is Here!!

The Rafferty x Lilah pups have arrived!  These pups were the result of a joint Frontier/Moonsong breeding but the pups are being raised by Lilah's custodial owner: Susan of Frontier chinooks.  Moonsong Lilah produced a beautiful litter of pups 2 years ago so I am very excited to see these pups grow.  They are happy, vigorous pups.
The boys (L to R): Moss, Justice, Flare, and Knight ( who is a gorgeous dark tawny!)
The Girls (L to R): Bliss, Apple, and Sunny

The pups don't always like to cooperate at picture time:-)  It took a lot of shots to get the 3 usable shots at the top!
